The fruity touches return in the nose, complemented by a smoky touch, brought to life by the Chimay house yeast. In the mouth, hints of liquorice will surprise you, rounded off as they are with the bitter hop aromas. This brown beer is amazingly easy to drink. Chimay Rouge is the oldest of the Chimay range, it was first brewed in 1862 that entitles it to the "Premier" appellation on the 750 ml bottle. Type: Dubbel Alcohol: 7% IBU: 19 Taste: Fruity. Toffee. Slight bitterness. From: Abbaye de Scourmont - Chimay Awards * 97 points - RateBeer * 87 The Beer Connoisseur |
