Marqués de Tomares is the maker of this 2017 Marqués de Tomares Crianza, a red wine from Rioja that is based on the best of tempranillo and graciano of 2017 and has an alcoholic strength of 14%
WINEMAKING
Manual harvest. Destalked with temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
GRAPE VARIETIES
90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano.
AGEING
Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels and French. Then it stays 12 months in bottle before being marketed.
TASTING NOTES
- View: Intense red cherry with violet tones
- Nose: the aroma emphasizes for its elegance, finesse, complexity and long duration.
- Mouth: The taste is smooth and round at the entrance with velvety and very pleasant sensations. Its tannic structure is elegant and very well made, excelling aftertaste for its great persistence. Minerals and a hint of coffee and caramel due to its “terroir”. Taste Long and fresh. Great aromatic richness; Red fruit, especially the raspberry, lactic and balsamic notes.
FOOD PAIRING
This Spanish Rioja Red wine would be a match with beef, lamb, veal, poultry. This wine combines particularly with roasted lamb and suckling pig, red meats in sauces, vegetables, cheeses and hunting lower half healing. This is also a superb red for roasts, burgers, chops and steak to enjoy now through 2025
