Launched in 1962, Jacquart use the word Mosaique (meaning mosaic) to represent the patchwork of families across the Reims region that produce the grapes used to make this champagne, a Chardonnay dominated blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The blend contains 20% reserve wines and ageing on the lees takes between 3-4 years.
35-40% Chardonnay, 30-35% Pinot Noir and 25-30% Pinot Meunier.
|Satin pale yellow with golden nuances and jade highlights. Fine bubbles herald a fresh and fairly rich Champagne. Flowery scents of honeyed, honeysuckle petals, fruit aromas of crushed pear, candied lemon and peach, and soft, creamy notes with biscuit and fresh bread crust unfurl on first pour. Fleshy, fruit-driven weight develops on the palate which is forthright, ethereal and generous. Mineral finish with lemon grass and faint melon skin aftertaste.|
This French Champagne wine would be a match with pork, rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), shellfish, mild & soft cheese. Pairs perfectly with prawns grilled or marinated, Kebabs with sweet bread, poached white peaches with merveilles.
