Château Puybarbe Magnum 2018

Château Puybarbe is located in the heart of the appellation of “Côtes de Bourg”. Three parallel lines of hills, along the Gironde estuary (just opposite the Margaux appellation in Médoc) gave this wine region its nick name of “Small Switzerland of Bordeaux”. The estate Chateau Puybarbe is located on the highest point of the third ridge line and offers a unique panorama that extends to Bordeaux embracing the whole Bourg area.

With a goodly amount of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, this wine is rich. Wood aging gives a luscious feel to a wine that is developing well. Dark tannins and concentrated black fruits show power and a juicy character that bodes well.

Tasting Notes

Eyes: Deep, dark ruby red
Nose: Heavy on the nose with hints of vanilla and raspberry
Palate: Medium to full bodied with medium tannins, high acidity. Hints of black fruits, liquorice, oak, vanilla and tobacco.
Finish: Soft, well balanced with a long and pleasant finish
