WINEMAKING
Just Riesling Trocken is estate Riesling harvested at 45hl/ha, fermented in stainless steel, grapes from all the estate's famous sites except Bastei, plus old vines Riesling from Bad Kreuznach. Finished trocken. Typically Nahe, the wine offers the mineral delineation and intricacy of a Mosel wine with body more like a Rheingauer. This is a GREAT bone dry Riesling for the price. It has the richness of Nahe, but is totally dry.
TASTING NOTE
Just Riesling presents itself with captivating, exotic fruit flavors and juicy acidity. A Riesling who does not deny his origin. Aromas of citrus, white peach and crunchy apple, paired with juicy minerality and the typical herbal spiciness lead to a pleasant drinking flow and stimulating freshness in the reverberation. Slender and uncomplicated, it opens the doors to the Riesling world of Gut Hermannsberg
FOOD PAIRING
Try with a huge array of dishes from fish to Indian, Chinese, Thai and more. It will pair well with salads, carpaccio, ceviche and pasta dishes. This wine is beyond a super value.
AWARD-WINNING
• James Suckling: 91 Points
A dry Nahe riesling that manages to be immediately attractive, but also has the herbal, smoky and mineral character that makes this region special. The spot-on balance makes this an uncomplicated food wine. Drink now. Screw cap.
• Vinous Media
This represents a cuvée in which estate fruit from Altenbamberg and Niederhausen-Schlossböckelheim is supplemented by contract fruit from Norheim and Bad Kreuznach vineyards. It offers a lovely combination of silken texture and midpalate density with animating juiciness and buoyancy. Flavor-wise, it’s a bit generic in its seed-tinged, tart-edged apple and fresh lime, but there is an appealing garland of apple blossom as well as sufficient stoniness and salinity on the finish to lend interest and saliva-inducement. Perhaps with a bit of time in bottle this will come closer to the impressive performance of its vintage 2015 predecessor. (In some markets, including within Germany, this Gutsriesling is labeled “Just Riesling.”)

• Wine Advocate
The 2016 Nahe Riesling Trocken "Just Riesling" is pure, fresh and mineral on the nose, provided with clear and well-concentrated fruit. On the palate, this is a juicy, round and spicy-mineral Riesling with racy acidity, finesse and elegance. The finish is pretty expressive and complex. A very straight character.
